LAMP SHOW BIENNIAL
Open Call for Artists, Designers, Collectors & Creators
Head Hi invites artists, designers, collectors, creators, and craftspeople of all levels, everyone and anyone to submit a lamp for the 2026 Head Hi Lamp Show Biennial. Yes, the Head Hi Lamp Show Biennial is an exhibition of lamps, lamps made by YOU. We encourage everyone to participate, all ages, professional designers, or not, to submit a lamp!
Since its inception in 2019, the Head Hi Lamp Show has become a global platform for collective imagination, participation, and experimentation with light, design, and materials. Now occurring biennially (every two years), the exhibition celebrates the joy of light with a special presentation of unique lamps selected through an international open call. The 2026 edition will take place in spring 2026.
This year Stephen Markos, founder of New York Design gallery Superhouse, will join us as an exciting curatorial collaborator and exhibitor! We are thrilled to have Stephen apply his dedication to design and fine craft as well as knowledge in contemporary and historical design to the selection process.
We look forward to continuing to celebrate our universal relationship to light, design and creative expression. These objects have the ability to change our spatial understanding, to tone our immediate atmosphere. So, for this sixth edition, get started, make that idea happen!
Submission Guidelines
People of all ages are welcome to submit one lamp per participant.

The submission fee is $20. Submission does not guarantee participation. After you submit your lamp to the open call, it will be reviewed by the organizers.
​
Organizers are looking for creativity, functionality, uniqueness, and funkiness, with a particular interest in “non-standard” materials and objects.
​
Lamps can be any size up to a maximum of approximately 2 x 2 x 2 ft. Any lamp sizes larger than this will not be considered.
​
All lamps must be listed for sale. If sold, the split is 50% (to the lamp maker) / 50% (to Head Hi).
​
For any lamps that need to be shipped, Head Hi does not cover shipping costs (including customs or import fees) for delivery or returns. Please do your research to determine your shipping costs in advance.​​

All selected lamps must be delivered to Head Hi in April 2026, exact date to be confirmed.
