In its essence Beacons is a collaborative apprentice piece, an object that showcases the studio's skills and thinking toward materials. It is the sum of its creators; the glasswork is from Brett, the carpentry that shaped the cork from Del. Scale-less-ness is the conceptual framework behind the lamps form. In its development we intentionally regarded the piece at many scales, from the handheld to the architectural and everything in between. It is an ode to pure potential and collaboration, a self portrait, a delicate combination of materials and a guiding light from an idea at the center of our practice. outgoing is the cross-disciplinary studio practice of artists Brett Gui Xin and Del Hoyle.
 
Established in Brooklyn in late 2023, the duo sort to combine their wealth of experience and skills with a wide variety of materials and media toward a singular cohesive vision. outgoing is for the pursuit of their creative impulses, to provoke curiosity, inspire and through a love for fine craftsmanship, refine a practice that freely moves between art, design and music. Their energetic approach has lead them to exhibit at Alcova Miami, NYC x Design, perform live music at NO BOUNDS experimental music festival in the UK as well as feature in a ones to watch profile in Wallpaper* magazine.
