Fenna Kosfeld
Dweller III, 2025
Metal, cotton, biopolymer, charcoal, charred bone, LED
21 x 21 x 24 inches
The lamp is the third sibling of the Dweller family. It stands stable on three feet yet, when touched on its legs can do a little wiggle dance. The body is made of carbonised bone. It is an ode to the material char/carbon being one of the purest form of life and storing energy, life and memory. The Dwellers are creatures that have a life in themself, especially when they start to dance, and their purpose is to accompany you.
Fenna Kosfeld is a German-born artist and material explorer based in Frankfurt and Barcelona. Her practice explores the emotional and atmospheric potential of light and natural materials through sculptural light objects, installations, photography, and landscape-based works. Guided by a tactile, intuitive process, Fenna works at the interplay of light and matter — using material as both medium and metaphor to reflect ecological interconnection and the quiet transformations of matter. Her light objects are often envisioned as sculptural companions that invite stillness, solitude, and presence.
