"This work stems from our exploration of the slip casting process paired with parts from our collection of used fuel gas cylinders. Both materials are used for their inherent yet disparate qualities; the porcelain being naturally luminous and steel cylinders having a bold primary opacity with markings of a former life. Why exactly these materials seem to belong together is perhaps a subjective determination, but its this pairing of not-commonly-reused/recycled with the new that we are interested in exploring."
