"After repurposing an old mattress to make a couch cushion, I was left with a mess of foam and springs that had to be recycled. While packing away the material, I realized the springs could be twisted and coiled around each other- resulting in a spherical shape that began to dictate itself. One bright idea led to another, and a dimmable bulb appeared at the core. The end result is a ball of light held together by only tension, simultaneously storing and releasing energy while casting an intriguing shadow around the space."
